These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and any purchases made from DC Hive Products (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or purchase from us.

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and not in any way that causes damage, disruption, or unauthorised access to our systems. We may change or remove any part of the website at any time without notice.
 

Product Information

We aim to describe and photograph our products accurately, but handmade items may vary slightly in size, colour, scent, and finish. These natural variations are not considered defects.
 

Prices and Payment

Prices are shown in GBP (£) and may change at any time. Orders are not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed. We may cancel or refuse an order (for example, where a product is unavailable, priced incorrectly, or suspected as fraudulent). Any payment taken in such cases will be refunded.
 

Shipping and Delivery

Our Shipping Policy forms part of these Terms. Delivery timeframes are estimates and may be affected by courier delays or events outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to you once delivered to the address provided.
 

Candle Safety & Responsible Use

Our candles must be used responsibly. By purchasing, you agree to follow standard candle safety guidance, including:

  • never leave a burning candle unattended

  • keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials

  • place on a stable, heat-resistant surface

  • trim wicks to around 5–10 mm before lighting

  • do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time

  • keep out of drafts and away from heat sources

  • stop burning when approximately 1 cm of wax remains

Failure to follow safety instructions can result in fire, injury, or property damage. We are not responsible for damage arising from misuse, neglect, alteration, or failure to follow safety guidance. If you are unsure how to use a product safely, please contact us before use.
 

Use at Your Own Risk

By purchasing and using our candles, you acknowledge that candles involve an open flame and carry inherent risks. You agree to use our products carefully, follow all safety instructions provided, and ensure appropriate supervision and conditions when burning candles. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you accept responsibility for the safe use of our products within your home or premises.

Nothing in this clause removes or limits any legal rights you have under UK consumer law.
 

Returns, Refunds & Faulty Items

If an item arrives damaged or faulty, contact us as soon as possible with photos and details so we can assess and arrange a replacement or refund where appropriate. For hygiene and safety reasons, used candles cannot be returned unless faulty. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
 

Allergies & Sensitivities

Some products may contain natural fragrances or essential oils. It is your responsibility to check ingredients and discontinue use if irritation occurs. We are not responsible for allergic reactions where accurate product information has been provided.
 

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under UK consumer law that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses

  • loss of profits, income, or business

  • damage arising from improper or unsafe use of products

  • damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control

Our total liability in respect of any order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order.

All text, images, branding, and content on this website are owned by DC Hive Products unless otherwise stated and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.
 

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will appear here with an amended “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated Terms.
 

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be handled by the Scottish courts.
